Does Speedwatch Work
We can all tell people we are doing a good job but what proof do we have that we are making any difference.
To do this we need statistics but with this must come a health warning, Animals are a variable. They roam and their numbers fluctuate so it's not an exact science but it's the best we have.
Please Note that Speedwatch did not start until July 2017.

Road Traffic Accidents 1st January to 19th December 2017
Total RTA’s during this time = 164

| Cattle/Calfs | 5 | 5 | 10 |
| Sheep/Lambs | 107 | 14 | 121 |
| Total | 133 | 31 | 164 |
Interesting to note that the number of animals killed or injured within the Dartmoor Speedwatch area is as follows,
Cows and Calfs = 3 Dead and 1 injured
Ponies and Foals = 11 Dead and 1 injured
Sheep and Lambs = 28 Dead and 2 injured
This makes a total of 42 Dead and 4 injured.
